Tobacco Road Golf Club

What a fun course. I knew it was going to be interesting when I missed a 12 foot putt on the practice green by 90 feet. The course is crazy and is a bucket list course if you are into that sort of thing. My son and I played here and hired a caddy to help us get around. He saved us several strokes as there are some shots that cannot be seen. The layout is fun and plays difficult if you are not hitting it where you intend. The course is in excellent shape and the greens were rolling perfectly. The staff was great and it met our high expectations.

Beautiful layout unlike any other. Strantz always makes fun courses to play. It can be a long or short course depending on what tees you play from. Very challenging, yet forgiving fairways. My only qualm is sometimes you can hit a perfect drive and still end up in thorn bushes. $215 for the round was quite expensive as well for a round in late November. 4.5/5 overall. Great course and the staff was very friendly and welcoming.

This was my first time playing the course. The course is fun, somewhat difficult, and probably one of the best courses I’ve ever played. The only issue we had and needs to be addressed management is one of the rangers continuously “harassed” during the round. We were a group of 4 and one guy just started playing golf. We tee’d off at 8:10 and finished our round at 12:35. For a 4 some and the first time playing the course I say that was a good pace of play. The ranger came to us 3 times and told us we needed to hurry our play. Be mindful we had absolutely no one behind us or pushing us. If so I would totally understand. This same ranger also picked up my playing partners ball from the rough along with another ball on hole number 2. The ranger then placed my playing partner’s ball in a spot the ball was not even originally at. This is ridiculous and bothered my playing partner because he plays the ball where it lies and to have the ranger just pick up his ball is unacceptable. We paid $175 a person and to be rushed for no apparent reason is absolutely absurd. Would I play there again, probably but I want to make everyone aware of the issues we had and prepare to feel rushed after paying an astronomical amount of money for a round of golf that you’re suppose to enjoy. The staff in the pro shop were great and the cart worker was awesome, the ranger on the course was below par!
